Brené Brown articulated the process of healing most beautifully when she said “Empathy has no script. There is no right way or wrong way to do it. It’s simply listening, holding space, withholding judgment, emotionally connecting, and communicating that incredibly healing message of ‘You’re not alone.’”
I’ve come to understand that self-empathy is imperative for healing. It is my belief that by holding a nonjudgmental, safe, and authentic space, those I work with may increase their capacity for self-appreciation and love: grounds for moving into self-actualization and equilibrium.
I value collaboratively approaching challenges with gentle curiosity and empowerment. It is with acceptance, creativity, respect, and connection that healing happens and we all have the innate ability to do so.
Individual and couples counseling are offered to those ages 14 and above. An integrative, flexible and holistic approach is used to support growth and healing. I've had special training in Somatic Experiencing, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
