Different from traditional talk therapy modalities, Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a holistic approach aimed at integrating the wisdom of the body and mind, increasing resiliency through this body centered therapy.  We often move through life quickly, without completing interrupted self-protective responses which inhibits our ability to come back into relationship with the nervous system and a regulated system. Consequently, unprocessed physiological activation and stress responses can be stored in the body and overly available when they are not needed. SE encourages participants to tap into the wisdom of the body to dislodge the stuck energy while heightening one’s ability to make more choices about how they live in the present and navigate through the world.
